There is a very curious aspect to the corruption by General Electric Company in the Indian Railway's Marhowra diesel locomotive factory Project.
Caterpillar Inc is directly and adversely affected by GE corruption as its subsidiary EMD has lost this tender and opportunity and this will eventually result in EMD losing the Indian Rail market as the Marhowra Project establishes a GE monopoly in the private sector supplier market for diesel locomotives to Indian Railways.
Caterpillar and EMD are aware of GE corruption and have evidence of it. Why then have they kept silent and allowed GE to walk with this tender.
Very curiously Caterpillar Inc has since 2011 and 2012 (when I made my complaints against General Electric public and when I filed my writ petition against GE impleading EMD as a party), faced an onslaught of enforcement and investigative actions by authorities in the US at a scale unusual for a US corporate like Caterpillar. These actions against Caterpillar in the US almost look like a witch-hunt. See below for news reports on Caterpillar's legal troubles in the US.
Just makes one wonder if GE used its influence to encourage this legal onslaught against Caterpillar and then blackmailed Caterpillar executives to keep silent regarding GE corruption in India in the Marhowra Project.
Have the Indian Government or Indian actors also pressurized Caterpillar and EMD to remain silent on GE corruption in the Marhowra Project?
